Het Gerucht gaat dat de regionale krantenuitgeverijen van zowel De Persgroep (De Volkskrant, Trouw, Algemeen Dagblad, Het Parool) als Telegraaf Media Groep (TMG) gaan snijden in het eigen personeelsbestand waarbij er tussen de 150 tot 200 ontslagen zullen vallen bovenop de al in dit voorjaar afgesproken geschapte fte’s. Volgens een aan het personeel rondgemailde brief aan de medewerkers van de Holland Media Combinatie staat dat de nieuwe directie Gert Jan Oelderik en Ferdy Demmers de lopende reorganisatie zoveel mogelijk wordt voortgezet, maar ook dat er extra wordt ingegrepen.
