Dutch yacht builders lose turnover because rich Russians are less interested in buying Dutch yachts because of the war in Ukraine and the Western sanctions.
Companies in the sector would lose several hundred million euros of turnover, so they told to the Dutch Financial paper Het Financiële Dagblad.
There are almost no applications for new constructions or maintenance anymore from Russia. That while that country in recent years, supplied the biggest customers.
“Since the problems in the Ukraine and the sanctions against Russia the Russian market has completely dried up,” says Director Emile Bagga of Moonen Shipyards in the newspaper.
The Dutch yacht Builders now focus more on the American and South American market. In addition, the Chinese market has a lot of potential.
