From Thursday 17 through Sunday September 20, 2015 the fourth edition of the annual art fair for contemporay art on paper, gouache, watercolour, paint, charcoal, pen or ink will take place in Amsterdam.
Amsterdam Drawing stages the best galleries from around the world presenting young talent as well as internationally established artists. Fifty Dutch and international galleries are invited to participate in Amsterdam Drawing 2015. The location will be the same as in previous editions: A temporary pavillion on the NDSM-Werf in Amsterdam–Noord.
Amsterdam Drawing has been a great succes ever since the beginning. The public is especially charmed and pleased by the very specific and dynamic character of the art fair. National as well as international press praise the consistent high quality and versatility of the artwork as well as the intimate atmosphere, globally absolutely unique.
A sensitive art connoisseur described previous editions as ‘a concert for chamber music’. Last year some 5.000 people visited the fair.
The defined area of contemporary art on paper is being especially appreciated by a dedicated group of followers from all over the world.
Concerning the artists contemporary art on paper implies paper as a favourite carrier for their work and for some even being the sole carrier for their work. The more intimate and direct techniques of drawing, collage, watercolour or painting on paper create a closer contact between the artist and her or his medium resulting in a more intimate experience for the spectator.
