About Casa Rosso. Their website says: “Amsterdam is the erotic capital of the world with Casa Rosso at the epicenter of erotic entertainment. The theatre with the pink elephant on its facade cannot be missed during your visit. While sitting back in a comfortable red velvet chair and enjoying a drink, you will be entertained by a great variety of erotic shows performed by talented international erotic artists performing alone or with a partner. The luscious performers integrate sometimes art, sometimes humour into their show and might even interact with the audience directly. As body temperatures might rise, Casa Rosso is an air-conditioned theatre that offers 180 seats and contains a balcony, a full bar and excellent waiting staff. Shows are performed non-stop. When you think you have seen it all, another erotic trick might just be explored right in front of you. Make sure you don’t miss it! Your visit will be unique, unforgettable and fun!”
Book about the Casa Rosso
Packed in the Bethaniënklooster in Amsterdam’s red light district got Casa Rosso owner Jan Otten (72)from Karin Bloemen the first copy of the novel. While the book was presented in front of oncle Joop, singer Gerard Joling and diet guru Sonja Bakker to the owner he wanted to express a word of thanks, but he was emotional touched. “This is not fiction, this is a real story”. Militant: “We’re just going to continue this and make another book about the theatre”.
Three and a half years ago Cor van Dijk, Director of Janot Entertainment Group (including the banana bar and Casa Rosso) suggested to make a book about the world-famous theater. “On the occasion of the seventieth birthday of Jan we wanted to write down some anecdotes for him and some intimates. We got so many comments that we have made a more complet book so that nothing is lost for the next generation. In doing so, we wanted to show that it is not just about crime in the red light district and that it is a cozy, safe neighborhood”.
The bundle that is written by Rob van Hulst and Fred Baggen, has 272 pages and looks at the history, the secrets and juicy stories of the erotic Temple.
